MAPs for Teens
What are maps? Guides - so that we can get to our chosen destination. We don't all have the same destination, but a map will provide us with options and a clear path. MAPs for teens are Mindful Awareness Practices that can be helpful in finding a way through the stressful teen years. To address the extraordinary amounts of stress that teens face, the MAP Center offers a specialized program. The eight week teen stress reduction program meets weekly, for about an hour. The group setting promotes a sense of community as teens discover they're not the only one who feels overwhelmed, lonely, happy, weird, confused, calm, left-out, confused, and excited - maybe all in one day!
The practices of yoga, silent sitting, awareness of breath, walking meditation, mindful eating are taught and practiced in the course. Art and music are included, as well.

Free Intro/orientation Class - Monday, Jan 16 - 7:30 to 8:30
8 - week class Monday, Jan 23 - Mar 26 - 7:30 to 8:30 (no class Feb 20 or Mar 19) Tuition $200 (includes CD and home practice guide)
